OUR HISTORY

GT Insurance commenced trading in 1996 as ‘Global Motor Underwriting Agency Pty Ltd’. Our founding Directors sought to utilise their extensive industry knowledge by establishing an Underwriting Agency that would recognise and genuinely understand the specific insurance needs of the Transport industry and deliver highly personalised and tailored products and services for Brokers and their Clients in this vital sector.

In 2006 our security company, Allianz Australia Insurance Limited, expanded their interest to become the major shareholder. At this time our name was changed to ‘Global Transport & Automotive Insurance Solutions Pty Ltd’, trading as GT Insurance. Moving forward and continuing to benefit from the strength and reputation of Allianz who assumed sole shareholder status in 2020, GT Insurance has continued to grow and today we are one of the largest and most respected providers of insurance to Australia’s transport sector.

OUR COMMUNITY

HEALTHY HEADS IN TRUCKS & SHEDS

Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds (HHTS) is a not-for-profit foundation founded in 2020. Uniting Transport Operators across Australia, both large and small, its aim is to tackle ‘driver and shed’ mental health and wellness. HHTS will be built on three key pillars, namely:

(1) TRAINING, by increasing the number of people trained in mental health at transport and logistics facilities;

(2) STANDARDS, by standardising mental health policies and regulation across the Industry; and

(3) WELLNESS, by providing tools to help each individual be healthier in their day-to-day lives from a diet and mental health perspective.
