Our Recoveries, Settlements & Investigations Manager will lead and oversee the operations of our recoveries, settlements, litigation and investigations teams. As a senior leader you will provide expert support, coaching and guidance to team leaders and team members, ensuring recovery, litigation and investigation processes are followed with consistency and integrity.

Reporting into the Head of Claims you will be responsible for:

  • Lead, coach and develop the Recoveries & Settlements Team Leaders and Litigation Specialist, providing expert technical guidance on complex or escalated cases.
  • Support Team Leaders to maintain consistently high service standards through targeted training, coaching and mentoring, building capability across recoveries and investigations.
  • Ensure all recoveries and investigations activities are conducted in line with industry regulations, legal requirements and internal policies, proactively managing and minimising risk.
  • Apply sound judgement to make informed decisions on recoveries and investigations outcomes in accordance with policy terms, legislative obligations and company guidelines.
  • Analyse recoveries and investigations data, preparing insightful reports to measure team performance, identify trends and support strategic decision‑making.
  • Conduct regular monthly reviews and quality audits to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience supporting senior leaders (e.g. Head of Claims) in day‑to‑day operational management, including data analysis, reporting and performance insights.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience leading, coaching and developing Team Leaders and specialist roles, including Recoveries, Investigations, Litigation and Settlements professionals.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of recoveries, settlements and investigations, with the ability to provide expert guidance on complex or escalated cases.
  • Proven ability to maintain high service standards through effective training, coaching, mentoring and capability uplift of team members.
  • Sound judgement and decision‑making skills, with the ability to determine recoveries and investigations outcomes in line with policy terms, regulations and company guidelines.
  • In‑depth understanding of relevant industry regulations, legal requirements and internal policies, with experience ensuring operational compliance and minimising legal risk.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience preparing, analysing and interpreting recoveries and investigations data to assess performance, identify trends and inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience managing workflows and backlogs, ensuring timely responses to enquiries and effective prioritisation across competing demands.
