Recoveries Consultant - Motor Insurance

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Recoveries Consultant to join our Recoveries & Investigations team. Reporting to the Recoveries & Investigations Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of recovery matters, identifying recovery opportunities, negotiating settlements, and delivering strong outcomes for the business and our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of recovery matters and ensure all motor claims are progressed in a timely manner.
• Analyse claims to identify recovery opportunities in accordance with the GT Insurance Recovery Manual.
• Recover outstanding debts and negotiate settlements with customers, insurers and third parties.
• Manage disputes and objections professionally while working towards positive outcomes.
• Provide recommendations regarding legal referrals and the engagement of external collection agencies.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, brokers and external parties to progress recovery matters.
• Maintain accurate claim records, recovery estimates and file notes.
• Respond to customer and stakeholder enquiries within service level expectations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support team objectives.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in Recoveries, Collections, Motor Claims or a related insurance environment.
• Experience negotiating settlements and managing disputes.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and achieve recovery targets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confidence engaging with customers and stakeholders in challenging situations.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• General Motor Insurance experience highly regarded.
