JOHN CAREY AWARDED BDM/UNDERWRITING PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR 2023

In a recent highlight at the Northern Territory Insurance Conference (NTIC), held at the Darwin Convention Centre from the 18th to the 20th of October, John Carey, our esteemed NT Underwriter at GT Insurance, secured the well-deserved title of BDM/Underwriting Professional of the Year 2023.

This year’s NTIC centred around the theme of “People, Purpose & Passion”. With purpose and passion, commitment and focus, everyone can forge a pathway to success.

The event not only allowed industry professionals operating in the Northern Territory the opportunity to contribute to the sustainability of the insurance sector but also provided the chance to engage in high-level professional development opportunities in Darwin.

To be recognised for the BDM/Underwriting Professional of the Year Award, nominees had to demonstrate a superior level of technical knowledge and customer service within their underwriting department or business development role. The judging panel evaluated each nominee based on their consistency in delivering outstanding performance, ability to inspire or lead others toward improved outcomes for clients, employers, and other stakeholders, as well as their presentation of measurable results and appropriate indicators. We firmly believe that John Carey possesses all these qualities and was a worthy recipient of this award.

John shares his thoughts on receiving this award:

“I’m honoured to be awarded as BDM/Underwriting Professional of the Year, and absolutely thrilled to have been recognised by our Brokers as an outstanding service provider. My success is a clear reflection of the passion and pride I have in our business, and the effort, dedication and care I apply to my role. I’ve long believed that if you give the world the best you have, the best will come back to you. I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by many great people. Many of whom continue to assist in my professional development, and I’m extremely proud to share my success with them as a reward for their investment in me and my future. I look forward to pursing a leadership role within GT, which may allow me to give back to our business in training, mentoring, or providing a positive influence on people, and I hope my achievement inspires others to push themselves in pursuit of their goals”.
